The TriSoldiers, Sean Halsted, Tarus Nelson, John Dicorce, Kevin McNease and Derik Weida come from varied backgrounds across the country. They have two things in common, they are classified as a disabled veteran by the Veterans Administration and they have used the sport of triathlon to overcome the effects of their
injuries.

TriSoldier Derek Weida served as an Infantryman in the 82nd Airborne Division. He suffered a gunshot wound through the right knee in Iraq in June of 2007. He has lost significant range of motion and can no longer run.

TriSailor Petty Officer Kevin McNease served in the US Navy for 20 years as a Rescue Swimmer. Cumulative trauma left him with a 50% disability after surgeries to his hip and shoulders.

TriSoldier Sergeant Tarus Nelson served as a US Army Combat Engineer for four years. He was injured in a convoy accident which left him with a shattered left arm, two broken collar bones, fractured skull, broken jaw, severed tongue and internal injuries.

TriSoldier Sergeant John DiCroce served as a US Army Infantryman for seven years. He was injured and following three reconstructive knee surgeries, forced to retire.

Through the Paralyzed Veterans of America partnership, we will be able to provide travel, lodging, food, race entry and uniforms for the athletes.

TriSoldier was founded in 2009 by former army officer and USA Triathlon certified coach Jeff Trout as a way to provide coaching to disabled veterans who want to participate in the sport of triathlon. After an article was posted about TriSoldier by USA Triathlon on their website, the organization took off quickly. Many people across the county contacted TriSoldier with offers to help. TriSoldier started a coaching directory which lists coaches throughout the country who pledged to donate their time to disabled veterans in their local area.

In February of this year, Andy MacDonald, Associate Director of Sports and Recreation of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, stepped in and provided support to put together the Lake Stevens event. Jeff Trout, Executive Director of the TriSoldier Project feels this partnership will expand in the future.

"Andy came to us and offered us a chance to take TriSoldier to the next level. Hopefully going forward, we will be able to return the favor to the PVA by providing support to the paratriathlete community." Trout goes on to say "Andy and I have talked about expanding to at least six races next year, and our plan at TriSoldier is to raise money to provide grants to athletes for training and equipment in the future. I don't think the average person realizes the expense associated with prosthesis, handcycles and racing wheelchairs that disabled athletes depend on for training as well as competition."

We are currently working with government agencies and local partners to identify possible swim venue options. Our team remains committed to ensuring the safety of all athletes and providing an Ironman experience that includes swim, bike and run.

"Contingency planning is part of our day-to-day operations," said Steve Meckfessel, WTC's Chief Operations Officer. "While we can't forecast swim and beach conditions in November, we are evaluating several course and venue options which will enable athletes to complete the entire event."

Communication relating to contingency plans for Ford Ironman Florida will be released as soon as they are finalized. Ironman will reach out to all registered athletes via email, on ironman.com and through official press materials.

Richard Sanders, Vice President of Sports Marketing for the Panama City Beach Convention and Visitor's Bureau comments, "We understand the concerns our visiting athletes have and consider their health and safety to be a top priority. We are working with Ironman and local officials to provide alternative plans for the swim portion of the race if the Gulf Coast oil spill does affect the waters currently utilized. If the swim location has to be moved, it will in not impact the caliber or integrity of this year's Ford Ironman Florida. We look forward to welcoming this world-class talent and the event back to Panama City Beach."
Bozzone, the 2008 Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 winner, claimed the title with an overall time of 4:01:15. Major, whose resume includes several Ironman and 70.3 victories, crossed the line in 4:30:36. The third-annual race offered a professional prize purse of $30,000 and 50 coveted slots to the 2010 Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3, Presented by Ford, taking place on Nov. 13 in Clearwater, Fla.

A highly competitive men's field today consisted of the top five finishers listed below as well as last year's second-place finisher, Richie Cunningham, and Rhode Island native John Hirsch, who finished in 4:35:04. Exiting the water at Roger Wheeler State Beach in first was Graham O'Grady, of New Zealand, followed closely by Great Britain's Paul Ambrose. Ambrose, who also led off the bike, transitioned to the run more than three minutes ahead of Bozzone and Australia's Tim Berkel. The pair made up time on the half-marathon course through Providence and finished in first and second place, respectively.

Major also saw competition with a strong women's field including Former Ironman World Champion and last year's female winner, Michellie Jones, along with New Hampshire native Heather Jackson and Massachusetts resident Caitlin Snow. Jones was first out of the water with New Zealand's Samantha Warriner exiting just seconds after. Jackson had the fastest bike split of the day, completing the 56 miles in 2:29:53, but the race came down to Major and Snow, who finished a mere 13 seconds apart.

reGen™'s Natural Cocoa, 3:1 Carb-to-Protein Formulation Proven Clinically to Accelerate Muscle Recovery and Increase Endurance

The first of-its-kind muscle recovery drink is designed to harness the antioxidant benefits found in natural cocoa with the nutrients athletes need to recover their muscles following a grueling workout.

The creation of reGen™ recovery beverage was inspired by several peer-reviewed research studies demonstrating natural cocoa's role in improving blood flow. Produced by Apure Foods Company of Wheat Ridge, CO, reGen™ has been clinically shown to help speed muscle recovery and increase exercise endurance.(1)

reGen™ is powered by natural cocoa, with more than two tablespoons (12 grams) in each 200-calorie, 11-ounce serving to provide more antioxidant power than that of many superfruits. Research shows that consuming natural cocoa can help maintain healthy blood flow, which may enhance the delivery of carbohydrates and protein during muscle recovery, and may enable a more efficient removal of the "waste" products produced during exercise that can lead to post-training muscle soreness.(2)

Many chocolate-flavored beverages utilize alkalized cocoa, for improved flavor, color and solubility; however, alkalization can significantly reduce cocoa's antioxidant power. Scientists from the Hershey Center for Health and Nutrition™ worked with the reGen™ team to develop a unique patent-pending process that incorporates the large amount of natural cocoa found in each serving of reGen™ without resorting to the use
of alkalized cocoa.

reGen™ also contains the scientifically-recommended 3:1 ratio of carbohydrates to protein, optimal for recovery.(3) Each serving contains 35 grams of carbohydrates to 11 grams of protein from whey and casein. (reGen Nutrition Factsheet)

"Nutrition for recovery is one of the most important, yet misunderstood, elements of a committed training program," said Dr. Amy Griel Preston, Ph.D., R.D., senior nutrition scientist for the Hershey Center For Health & Nutrition. "reGen™ is designed to give committed athletes the right nutrients, in the proper ratio, at the right time, to pursue their athletic goals."

According to clinical testing done by Miami Research Associates, study participants who consumed the reGen™ beverage experienced an average of 25 percent improvement in their muscle recovery compared to the leading carbohydrate and electrolyte beverage. In the same clinical study, when participants consumed reGen™ they experienced an average 9.7 percent increase in endurance versus when they consumed an identical beverage without cocoa.(4)

"Several research studies have shown the potential benefits of natural cocoa over the years, so it was exciting to observe the results that athletes using reGen™ generated in this clinical study," said Douglas S. Kalman PhD, RD of Miami Research Associates. "These new findings may just reset the game in post-workout muscle recovery."

Consuming reGen™ within the first hour after a workout maximizes its benefits; however, nutrition for muscle recovery goes beyond the first 60 minutes.(5) It is important to consume the correct amount of carbohydrates and protein approximately every two hours, for up to four to six hours, after training.(6) These needs can be met either by drinking a second reGen™ muscle recovery beverage two hours post-workout or by eating a well-balanced meal that contains both carbohydrates and protein.

reGen™ is 99.9 percent lactose-free and will be initially released in the Northeast region
of the U.S. beginning in June 2010. reGen™ is compliant with NCAA guidelines for
nutrition for collegiate athletes.

Each single-serve, 11-ounce shelf-stable container has a suggested retail price of $2.99 to $3.49. reGen™ will be available at local health clubs, gyms and specialty cycling and running retailers, as well as online at www.regen2recover.com.

For more information, and to learn more about reGen™ recovery beverage and the
science of recovery, please visit www.regen2recover.com

The German superstar Commerzbank triathlete will defend his European title this weekend in Frankfurt, wearing exclusive goggles bearing his name and team colours.

Hydra-Vision goggles are favoured by triathletes such as Bracht because of their all round visibility and excellent low profile dynamics in the water. The split yoke strap makes them ideal for rough open water starts, and those bearing Bracht's name will be tough to catch this season.

Bracht, 34, was 6th in Hawaii last October, and could claim his third European title if he wins in Frankfurt this weekend. He's one of just ten athletes to have broken eight hours for the ironman distance, although repeating that in Frankfurt will be tough this year with 5km of extra cycling added to the bike course due.

He said: "Swimming is not usually my biggest strength in a triathlon. I find it tough, but with this new goggle swimming is fun, even for me!"

Each year, more than 90,000 athletes compete for slots in the Ford Ironman World Championship held every October in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 held every November in Clearwater, FL.
About Wheaties:
Born out of a fortunate mistake in 1924, original Wheaties was created when a health clinician accidentally spilled a wheat bran mixture onto a hot stove. The result was tasty, crispy wheat flakes that became known as Washburn's Gold Medal Whole Wheat Flakes. A year later, the cumbersome name was shortened to Wheaties. Baseball legend Lou Gehrig was the first athlete featured on a Wheaties Box, when he appeared on the back cover in 1934. In 1958, American champion pole-vaulter Bob Richards was the first person to appear on the front of the package, jumpstarting the phenomenon of "being on the Wheaties box," which has since been graced by some of the greatest athletes of all time, including Bruce Jenner, Walter Payton, Mary Lou Retton, and many others.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Following extensive research and consideration, USA Triathlon announced today that beginning in 2013 use of wetsuits exceeding five millimeters in thickness will not be permitted at USAT-sanctioned events.

The new regulation, which falls under Article 4.4 Wetsuits of the USA Triathlon Competitive Rules, states: "Effective January 1, 2013, any swimmer wearing a wetsuit with a thickness measured in any part greater than five millimeters shall be disqualified."

"Our board has been considering this issue and the impact it might have with our athletes for some time," said USA Triathlon CEO Skip Gilbert. "The overall feeling is that it makes perfect sense to align with the guidelines set by our international federation and multisport enthusiasts around the world. This is a standard that is good for the athlete community and our sport overall."

By implementing this rule change, USA Triathlon falls in line with the international standard of five millimeters recognized by the International Triathlon Union (ITU) and other National Governing Bodies.

The adoption of this rule is designed to eliminate any competitive advantage gained by enhancements in wetsuit technology in recent years. Studies have shown there is a marked and measurable performance benefit to the use of certain wetsuits, specifically added buoyancy effectively reducing passive drag. These performance benefits have led to an increased, and artificially induced, reduction in physical demand required during the swim leg of a triathlon and an increase in speed.

USAT recognizes that there may be wetsuits currently available on the market that are greater than five millimeters in thickness. Consequently, the organization has implemented a phase-in period of the rule to allow the use of wetsuits that currently do not meet the thickness requirement. This announcement of the new regulation serves as notice that the rule change will come into effect in 2013.

USAT recently solicited feedback on the wetsuit thickness issue from its certified race directors via a comprehensive survey. The majority of those surveyed supported USA Triathlon's adoption of this rule.

About USA Triathlon
USA Triathlon is proud to serve as the National Governing Body for triathlon - one of the fastest growing sports in the world - as well as duathlon, aquathlon and winter triathlon in the United States. USAT sanctions 3,100 races and connects with more than 133,000 members each year, making it the largest multisport organization in the world. In addition to its work with athletes, coaches, and race directors on the grassroots level, USAT provides leadership and support to elite athletes competing at international events, including World Championships, Pan American Games and the Summer Olympic Games.
In partnership with the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), ACHIEVE takes kids through a six-week instruction and fitness training program, provided free of charge, monitored by USA Triathlon (USAT)-certified coaches. The ACHIEVE Kids Tri program helps kids master the fundamentals of swimming, cycling, running and triathlon racing, as well as the essentials of proper nutrition, stretching, strength-training and flexibility. The ACHIEVE program concludes each season with a timed short-course triathlon race, certified and sanctioned by USAT.

At a benefit hosted Friday by the Washington Hilton, organizers announced receipt of a grant from USAT, the National Governing Body for multisport in the United States, which will help the program expand to new regions. Launched initially in Washington, D.C., the program expanded to Houston, Texas, in its second year. This year, the program will launch in Waterbury, Conn., and next year, ACHIEVE is reviewing potential sites in Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, and San Francisco, CA.

Mayor Adrian M. Fenty said, "The District is committed to ensuring that kids have access to quality fitness and sports programs at our local schools and Parks and Recreation facilities. By encouraging our youth to participate in physical activities, we are laying the proper foundation for them to chose healthy lifestyles. As a triathlete, I know firsthand the benefits that can result."

"We are grateful to USAT for this generous grant which is helping us expand the program and bring the benefits of triathlon training to a new generation of young athletes," noted Molly Quinn, Executive Director of ACHIEVE. "We believe this program is an example of how a unique public-private partnership, such as the one we have between ACHIEVE and the Department of Parks and Recreation, can fulfill First Lady Michelle Obama's vision of promoting health, fitness and nutrition for the nation's young people."

"ACHIEVE Kids Tri is truly fueling the multisport lifestyle in today's youth, and USA Triathlon is proud to partner with this exciting program," said USA Triathlon CEO Skip Gilbert. "Instilling healthy habits at an early age is very important, and the ACHIEVE camps do a remarkable job of introducing our sport to children each summer."

The 2010 summer camp will take place June 21-July 30 at four sites in Washington, D.C.: the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, the Benning Park Community Center, and - starting in 2010 - the Deanwood Community Center and Barry Farms Recreation Center. The program runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Under ACHIEVE's motto of "Enriching Lives Through Sport," the program will include specially trained counselors and coaches teaching kids triathlon skills, and how leading a healthy fitness-oriented lifestyle can help them succeed in life. In addition to fitness and nutrition counseling, each camper also receives a free healthy breakfast and lunch through the federal lunch program.

At the final day of camp, July 30, kids will compete in The Fourth Annual DC Kids' Triathlon. This race will be sanctioned by USAT and produced by Washington Sports and Events Management. This kid-sized triathlon will include athletes from all four camps and will take place at Turkey Thicket Recreation Center. The race will feature a 100m swim, 5k bike and a 2k run. There will be professional timing, a finish line banner, finishers medals, finishers t-shirts, a finish line photo and more. As USAT members racing in a USAT sanctioned triathlon they will officially record their first sanctioned triathlon finish time!

In addition to the D.C. sites, there is a camp taking place this summer in Houston, Texas, from June 28-August 6. Organized by Charles Moser, it will take place at the MacGregor Community Center and will culminate with The Houston Kids' Triathlon on Aug. 7. Also, beginning in 2010, a new site in Waterbury, Connecticut, will launch. Held at the Greater Waterbury YMCA, the camp will take place from June 28-Aug. 6, with the triathlon also being held on Aug. 7.

ACHIEVE is a free camp that relies on donations and grants to provide youth with all of the equipment and training that they will need during the program. Donations can be directed to a specific camp or region and go to support the purchase of swimsuits, goggles, swim caps, swim fins, pull buoys, kickboards, bikes, helmets, cycling jerseys and other training gear. Registration is free, but space is limited. To register, make a donation, or inquire about volunteering or coaching for one of the ACHIEVE camps, go to www.achievekidstri.org.

About ACHIEVE Kids Tri, Inc.:
ACHIEVE Kids Tri, Inc. is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 2007 by Charles (Chuck) Brodsky, founder of The Nation's TriathlonT with the support of Washington, D.C., Mayor, Adrian Fenty, an avid triathlete, and Washington, D.C.'s Department of Parks and Recreation. Bolstered by the support of the GOTRIbal women then, she finished her first triathlon strong, and just three weeks ago, completed one of the country's most difficult Ironman distance events in Utah - that's 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles on her bike, and then, a 26.2 mile run.

"I am not athletically gifted. The support & advice from the women in GOTribal helped to get me through my first Sprint Triathlon. It is super cool to find that there are these women...total strangers at first, that would offer to swim with me, ride with me, and actually stay by my side, just because they wanted to help me out. When I signed up for Ironman, another member became the most awesome mentor!. It's so cool finding out what you're capable of when you put your mind to it. Don't ever think for a minute that you are not capable. Believe in yourself, we will believe in you, and the rest is history!"

Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Series Triathlon Speed Suit and Shoes Help Deliver First Pro Win for Rising Tri Star Cameron Dye

LOUISVILLE, COLO. (Spring 2010) - Triathletes always remember their first. Their first race, their first finish, their first win. Even top triathletes such as Boulder, Colo., native Cameron Dye, a member of the Pearl Izumi Tri Team (www.pearlizumi.com), remember their first - as in their first pro win. And whether it's your first race or your first major win, you remember what got you there.

Against a blistering field of some of the world's top triathletes, Cameron Dye, in his second year as a professional triathlete, grabbed his first major professional triathlon win at the 27th annual St. Anthony's Triathlon (St. Petersburg, Fla.), considered by many as the first significant triathlon of the professional triathlon season in the United States. Dye, 26, and a former member of the University of Iowa swimming team, broke loose from the neck-to-neck competition to claim his first triathlon. Dye finished the St. Anthony's Triathlon, which features a 1.5K swim, a 40K bike ride, and a 10K run, in 1:48:44 -- 20 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.

Tri Speed Suit, featuring In-R-Cool™ fabric technology. Dye also relied on his Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Series Tri Fly III Carbon tri shoes (for the riding portion of the race) and Pearl Izumi Streak running shoes.

In addition to Dye, professional triathletes such as two-time Ironman World Champion Tim DeBoom and ITU World Duathlon Champion Leon Griffin wear Pearl Izumi for its unmatched anatomic fit and feel and high tech, race-day performance. Celebrating its 60th anniversary, Pearl Izumi is dedicated to manufacturing the highest performing apparel and shoes to give cyclists, triathletes and runners the extra edge they desire.

Combining the desire for more speed with the reality of helping triathletes better manage their body temperature and riding comfort, In-R-Cool™ fabric technology is a critical new element in Pearl Izumi's P.R.O. Tri apparel line, which includes the P.R.O. Tri Speed Suit, P.R.O. Tri Short, and P.R.O. Tri Singlet, available in men's and women's sizes.

In-R-Cool™ technology reduces a fabric's surface temperature and increases performance and comfort by reducing perspiration. The new technology brings the reflective cooling benefits of white fabrics to dark fabrics, reducing perspiration by half, in comparison to traditional black fabrics. By reflecting UV light, In-R-Cool™ reduces the fabric's surface temperature to the same temperature as a white fabric and provides UPF 50+ sun protection. To further enhance athletic comfort in warm conditions, In-R-Cool™ technology utilizes a special perspiration-activated technology that cools the athlete's body surface temperature by 5% and delivers unparalleled UPF+ sun protection.

Working with its In-R-Cool™ fabric technology, Pearl Izumi's Transfer Aero Fabric is designed to increase aerodynamic performance. The proprietary, patented-pending fabric offers a unique texture pattern built into the fabric that acts like dimples on a golf ball. When positioned in strategic areas on a jersey or short, this fabric technology can reduce drag by 15% over traditional performance fabrics. In a standardized wind tunnel test, Transfer Aero Fabric produced an energy savings of 8% at 40 kph/25 mph over standard performance fabrics.

Complementing Pearl Izumi's P.R.O. Tri suits, shorts and singlets, Tri pros such as Tim DeBoom and Cameron Dye wear Pearl Izumi's Tri Fly II Carbon tri shoes during the ride portion of professional triathlons. The Tri Fly III shoe is built with a 1:1 Power Plate, featuring uni-directional carbon for ultra-light stiffness and Direct-V technology for cooling and drainage; an anatomic Tri closure, which eliminates hot spots and removes pressure from the instep; and a fully lined mesh upper support for bare foot comfort.

"Our P.R.O. Series Tri apparel with In-R-Cool™ and Transfer Aero fabric technology and Pearl Izumi footwear serve as critical components in a triathlete's drive toward reaching higher performance levels," said Geoff Shaffer, Pearl Izumi marketing director. "In whatever conditions you race, Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Tri gear reduces aerodynamic friction and helps competitors better manage their body temperature so they can keep their concentration on the race, and not on their gear."

The deal is an extension of PowerBar's longstanding global partnership with Ironman and its role as the official global energy bar and energy gel supplier of all Ironman and 70.3 events.

Through the agreement, the companies will introduce new Ironman PERFORM(TM) ready-to-drink sports beverage in June 2010. New Ironman PERFORM sports drink features PowerBar's state-of-the-art C2MAX carbohydrate blend, found to deliver 20 to 50 percent more energy to muscles and improve endurance performance by 8 percent.[1]

"We have a fundamental goal and shared mission with Ironman, which is to help athletes perform at their best," said Phil Annett, Global Business Head at Nestlé Performance Nutrition. "Applying the latest sports science to get the right balance of performance benefits, taste and stomach comfort in the new Ironman PERFORM sports drink was a long yet essential development process designed to help athletes achieve optimum performance."

President and CEO of Ironman, Ben Fertic commented, "Ironman is the pinnacle of endurance sports and we believe in having the latest tools available for our athletes. As Ironman celebrates its 32nd anniversary, we are excited to offer the world's top athletes a new product that is designed to enhance their training and race day experience."

Designed for athletes who take part in intense workouts or who exercise in the heat or humidity and experience significant fluid and electrolyte loss, new Ironman PERFORM sports drink also enhances performance by delivering essential electrolytes, including 190 mg of sodium per serving, to replenish what athletes lose in sweat and to help avoid skeletal muscle cramps and dehydration. The convenient ready-to-drink beverage is also made with natural flavors and without the use of high fructose corn syrup.

Through the new agreement, Ironman PERFORM will be the official sports drink for the following events in 2010: Amica Ironman 70.3 Rhode Island, Ironman 70.3 Racine, Rohto Ironman 70.3 Miami, Ford Ironman Lake Placid, Ford Ironman Louisville, Ford Ironman Wisconsin, Ford Ironman Florida and Ford Ironman Arizona. Additionally, both the 2010 Ford Ironman World Championship and Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 events will include Ironman PERFORM on-course, and the product will be on course at upcoming Aflac Iron Girl events throughout the 2010 season.

"I have been testing out the new Ironman PERFORM sports drink in training and it has a light taste and was easy on my stomach," said Samantha McGlone, Ironman Champion. Ironman Perform is the most convenient way to meet all my hydration and nutrition needs during hard racing and training. It will be key for me to now have its performance-enhancing formula on course when it counts this season."

C2MAX, the unique, high-octane carbohydrate formulation found in new Ironman PERFORM sports drink, was developed based on groundbreaking research published in the February 2008 issue of Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise, the official journal of the American College of Sports Medicine. The study showed that consuming an optimized blend of glucose and fructose carbohydrates allowed athletes to perform better, increase fluid delivery and experience less perceived exertion following exercise.2 PowerBar, through the Nestlé Research Center, continues to support a series of follow-up carbohydrate performance field trials with lead research author Dr. Asker Jeukendrup and his team at the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Birmingham. The aim of these trials is to apply this breakthrough science to the development of new sports nutrition tools, such as new Ironman PERFORM sports drink, for endurance athletes.

PowerBar's heritage with the sport of triathlon traces back to the company's beginning, and triathletes worldwide have come to rely on PowerBar's sports nutrition products for top-level training and competition. Through the company's Team Elite(TM) ambassador program, Ironman and 70.3 athletes have contributed to PowerBar's product development programs for elite athletes, and this new sponsorship and licensing agreement is a natural extension of the long-standing relationship.

New Ironman PERFORM ready-to-drink sports beverage will be available on June 8, 2010 in three flavors2---Lemon Lime, Orange Mango and Mixed Berry---via powerbar.com, shopironman.com for a suggested retail price of $1.49 per 20-fluid-ounce bottle.3
