The Athletics Events division owns and runs about 65 events across the U.S., including the Life Time Minneapolis Triathlon and two other triathlon races in Minnesota. Other big races include the Chicago Triathlon and the New York City Triathlon as well as some Women's only Triathlon events and Life Time Kids Triathlon races. Life Time Fitness also owns the Leadville Race Series based in Colorado.
The new office space in Louisville will also bring together the company's Life Time Media division, which oversees Athlinks.com, the race results database and ChronoTrack, a Life Time-owned company which offers online race registration, scoring and race services.
"We wanted to be in an area, first and foremost, that is endemic to our business," Kimo Seymour said, noting the high level of outdoor athletic activity among residents of the Boulder and Denver areas.
Seymour, a senior vice president with Life Time Fitness will be heading up the new office in Colorado.
According to the reports, Life Time Fitness will receive about $3.52 million from the Colorado Economic Development Commission to situate the headquarters in Louisville in return for hiring new employees.
