Ironman 70.3 Results Putrajaya, Florida, Puerto Rico, New Orleans


Lots of action on the Ironman 70.3 circuit this early spring weekend as four races took place today. The action started in Asia with the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Putrajaya event and then moved to North America with races in Florida, New Orleans as well as Puerto Rico.

Brad Kahlefeldt & Radka Vodickova Win Inaugural 2014 Ironman 70.3 Putrajaya

In some pretty hot racing conditions, where temps were in the 100 degree Fahrenheit range, Brad Kahlefeldt and Radka Vodickova take the wins. Radka used her scorching 1:22:11 run to secure her first Ironman 70.3 series victory.

Viktor Zyemtsev & Caitlin Snow Take the Wins at 2014 Ironman 70.3 Florida

2014 Ironman 70.3 Florida Results:
Haines City, Florida - April 13, 2014

In Florida, Viktor Zyemtsev edged out Greg Bennett by 28 seconds for the win. Bennett had a 5:19 minute lead over Zyemtsev exiting T2, but it was Zyemtsev who ran through the field to catch Bennett and get the win. Caitlin Snow wins on the women's side.

Andrew Starykowicz & Helle Frederiksen Repeat at 2014 Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico

In San Juan, Andrew Starykowicz showed off his amazing speed on the bike, clocking a bike split of 2:02:14. Five minute faster than Andi Boecherer and well over six minutes ahead of Will Clarke. But it was Clarke that showed off on the run with his 1:17:28 split, which was over five minutes faster that Starykowicz but not enough to close the gap as he takes second while Starykowicz held on for the win. Helle Frederiksen once again wins in the heat in Puerto Rico, leading from start to finish.

Andy Potts & Lauren Barnett Victorious at 2014 Ironman 70.3 New Orleans

In New Orleans, the race started a few minutes late so that athletes and spectators could pay respect to fallen Atlanta firefighter Sgt. Frank Guinn, who was supposed to compete but was struck by a car and killed on Friday. Once the race started is was Andy Potts and Lauren Barnett who edged out the wins in Louisiana. For Barnett it was her first Ironman 70.3 win as a pro.
