Ultramax Sports Announces 5150 St. Louis Triathlon


5150 st louis triathlonST. LOUIS, Missouri (January 17, 2013) - The Fresh Ideas 5150 St. Louis Triathlon presented by Precision Health Group becomes one of several flagship triathlon events owned and produced by Ultramax Sports. The event is set for Saturday, June 29, 2013.

The 5150 event becames one of several flagship triathlon events owned and produced by Ultramax Sports. "It has been a true pleasure for Ultramax Sports to play such an integral role in the active lifestyle movement over the past 14 years. We could not be more delighted to bring the 5150 St. Louis Triathlon to the St. Louis area," said Mark Livesay, owner of Ultramax Sports.

The Fresh Ideas 5150 will qualify the top 15 athletes in each age group and established specialty divisions for the Hy-Vee 5150 U.S. Championship. The top 10 athletes in each age group and specialty divisions will automatically qualify for the Hy-Vee 5150 U.S. Championship event. Each athelte that finish in the top 5 of their respective age group or specialty division will win a free entry to the Hy-Vee Championships. The event will be held at Innsbrook Resort. "We chose our famous Innsbrook Resort venue to host the 5150 St. Louis Triathlon. It was an easy decision, there is simply no other venue like this in multisport. Innsbrook has hosted our popular Quartermax Triathlon for the past eight years and we are exited to make the transition to a 5150 Triathlon Series event," he said.

Innsbrook Resort is nestled in the forested hills just west of St. Louis and the property spans more than 8,000 acres and features more than 100 lakes. The resort is less that an hour drive from St. Louis and this multi-sport mecca consists of a residential and recreational living community, resort condominiums, conference center, golf course, restaurant, and stables.

The 5150 series is an International distance triathlon consisting of: 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run. It will be the largest international distance triathlon series in the world and will be the first non-drafting international race series of its kind by offering a competitive platform for professional and age group athletes.
