Streamline Events, a race company with several triathlon events in the Northeast as well as the Draft Legal Challenge events in Florida, has launched the Hero Triathlon Series. It's a new Olympic Distance Triathlon Series developed to show respect to the Military men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom.

The new Hero Triathlon Series from Race Directors Jamie Ranney and Bill Burnett was built to create a powerful, prestigious, and exclusive fundraising vehicle for groups affiliated with veterans. The initial launch features two new triathlon events on the triathlon calendar in the Northeast, the Nantucket Hero Triathlon in July and the Cape Cod Hero Triathlon in September. Organizers hope to take the Hero Triathlon series to various parts of the country and have other events in the series.

The initial goal is to support and raise funds for the Women's Veterans Network of Massachusetts.

Where: Jetties Beach, Nantucket Island, MA

The Nantucket Hero Triathlon comes on the heels of the highly successful Nantucket Sprint Triathlon. Now in it's 5th year, the Nantucket Triathlon brings in 1,000 athletes from around the country to enjoy everything the island has to offer. Nantucket's long and storied history as the whaling capital of the world, combined with historic architecture, cobblestone streets, vibrant waterfront, pristine beaches, clean waters and beautiful moorlands will provide a perfect backdrop to a race inspired to give back to the very people who have fought for our freedom.

Triathlon: Cape Cod Hero Triathlon
When: Sunday, September 8, 2013
Where: Johns Pond, Mashpee, MA
Distances: S: .9mi B: 25mi R: 6.1mi

The Cape Cod Hero Triathlon is the only Olympic distance event on Cape Cod and one of the last scheduled Olympic distance events on the 2013 race calendar in the Northeast. The course offers exclusive access to the Massachusetts Military Reservation (aka Otis Air Force Base/Camp Edwards). Athletes will feel the inspiration throughout the entire race as they compete aside men and women in uniform.

Registration is now open for the two new Hero Triathlons; for Individuals and Relay Teams, see the website for details. Organizers are offering a 25% discount off the entry fee for active military athlete(s).
