Post Hy-Vee 5150 Interview with Winner Lisa Norden

lisa norden 5150The last 30 days for Lisa Norden of Sweden has been an amazing whirlwind tour of achievements.

It started with her amazing race last month at the 2012 London Olympic Games, with her photo finish in the Women's Triathlon event for a Silver medal. It then continued some two weeks later after returning home to Sweden. For the first time, she had a chance to race and ITU World Triathlon Series triathlon in front of her home crowd and she gave them what they were hoping for, a win on home soil as she claimed her third ITU World Triathlon Series win in Stockholm. Then eight days later she was in Des Moines, Iowa as the defending champion at the Hy-Vee 5150 U.S. Championship event. Before the race she was quoted saying she tweaked her hamstring racing in Sweden, so she was hoping to just finish. Even after a mechanical on the bike course, she managed to get to the front of the Women's race and win it again, earning the big $151,500 first place prize purse plus $20,600 in bonus money. So in 30 days she gets a Silver Medal, another ITU World Triathlon Series win and a wins a prize purse of $172,100.

We had a chance to catch up with here after the race for a quick interview. See what she says about stepping up to an Ironman 70.3 race or an Ironman someday...
