The countdown has begun. In 15 days we will be enjoying the start of the third Valencia Triathlon. Registrations are closed for the 2012 edition and 2,600 athletes will be gathering September on 8th and 9th.

In this third edition, Valencia Triathlon will take place on two consecutive days with categories for all ages and physical condition.

Once again this year, Saturday is the day when the distances of SuperSprint and Women's Triathlon are to be held. In addition, this time a third category is being added to the Sprint distance: the Sprint First Day by Oakley. The Sprint distance is still being held on Sunday, as well as the Olympic and Paratriathlon races.

As for new developments, the main sites remain, such as swimming, cycling and running around the dock of the Juan Carlos I Royal Marina, the Formula 1 street circuit and the backdrop of the City of Arts and Sciences. However, this time the 2010 route is being used again, although the bike route will not go down through the City of Arts and Sciences, but will go past the cultural complex by crossing over the L'Assut de l'Or bridge.

A new category is going to be seen in 2012 too. The Flash category is not going to be held, but there will be a Sprint First Day added to the Saturday schedule. Sponsored by Oakley, the distances are the usual ones, but there is a different route on Sunday that is perfect for those who want to debut in triathlon in the city of Valencia.
