Rolf Prima athlete, Tyler Butterfield will race at 2012 Olympic Games

tybutterfield-rolfprima.jpgEugene, OR - After another impressive showing at this past weekend's ITU World Triathlon Madrid in Spain, Tyler Butterfield has qualified to represent his home country, Bermuda for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. Butterfield cemented his slot after a strong finish with an overall time of 1:55.40.

"While I was fairly confident I would get the job done, you never know until you reach the finish line and the final rankings are confirmed," said Butterfield. "And although I had anticipated that moment, nothing quite prepares you for the emotion of being told, officially, that you're an Olympian. It's pretty overwhelming - and pretty wonderful. I'm honored to represent Bermuda and I hope to use my experience from Athens, paired with a solid season of training and racing, to put forth my finest performance to date."

Butterfield will return to his home in Boulder, Colorado and begin the final focus on training for the nine weeks of preparation for London.

His potential schedule leading up to the Olympics includes racing the Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon on June 24 and potentially the Dextro Energy Triathlon Hamburg (an ITU World Triathlon Series race) on July 21.

Butterfield currently races on Rolf Prima TdF60SL's and trains on Rolf Prima Echelons. Go Tyler!
