Alternatives for Canceled Washington DC Triathlon

tricolumbia logoIf you were planning on racing in the Washington DC Triathlon in June, hopefully you already know that's not going to happen. The race has been canceled due to the National Park Service not granting race organizers a permit for the race. It seems that the National Park Service is enforcing its well-publicized foot race policy this year.

Race organizers will let you transfer your race entry as is at no additional cost to some specific races such as Nation's Triathlon, TriRock New York or TriRock Annapolis.

TriColumbia, the Mid-Atlantic's premier endurance event production company has two triathlon races that might be great alternatives for the DC Triathlon in June. Both are up in Columbia, Maryland, just about 30-45 minutes outside of D.C., and are very close in time to the DC Tri. With one of them being a 5150 Triathlon Series qualifying event, which the DC Triathlon was.
