2012 kicks off the second year for the WTC's 5150 Triathlon Series. Right now we have two additional races joining the 5150 Triathlon Series schedule in 2012. The Kansas City Triathlon (Kansas City, MO) and the Giant Eagle Triathlon (Columbus, OH) join seven other qualifying races in the United States on the 2012 schedule. Both races will offer qualifying slots and points for the Hy-Vee 5150 U.S. Championship in Des Moines, IA in September.

They join the new 5150 Muskoka triathlon which was also recently re-branded in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada and takes place on July 22, 2012.
The 5150 Series is an international Olympic Distance triathlon series consisting of triathlons of a: 1.5km Swim, 40km Bike and 10km Run. It's the first non-drafting international race series of its kind, offering a competitive platform for professional and age group athletes. Athletes qualify for the 5150 U.S. Championship held in conjunction with the Hy-Vee Triathlon in Des Moines, IA where professional athletes have the opportunity to compete for $1 million in prize money.
Next month the inaugural 5150 Sri Lanka event takes place in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The series opener race that was on the schedule last year and took place will not be on the 2012 schedule. The 5150 Miami International Triathlon has been Canceled / Postponed. Organizers hope to have it back in 2013.
