MORE RACES TO COME IN 2012. TRISTAR BERLIN CANCELLED.
In the next months, Star Events will announce more destinations and events for 2012 and 2013, and confirm the date for TriStar Madrid with the brand new T5 format (a team of five triathletes racing together, with drafting allowed between the members of the same team). The date of TriStar Sardinia will follow soon. Finally, TriStar Berlin will not be part of the 2012 calendar as the co-organizers SCC Events and Star Events decided to end their collaboration on mutual agreement and continue with separate triathlon formats in the future (more info in www.tristarberlin.com).
"We have created a few new events coming along for 2012 on the TriStar Series and mostly for the format 111, but normally accompanied by 55.5 or 33.3... We are bringing unique destinations in France as Cannes and Deauville, a new race in the UK in Milton Keynes close to London and also a new race in Austria for the first time in a natural paradise as Salzkammergut... We are trying to net our series across Europe as well to have some leads to the US as well" says Georg Hochegger, CEO of Star Production SARL.
The TriStar label is owned by Star Production SARL, a Monaco based company specializing in organizing high quality sports events that are focused on fun, social responsibility and environmental protection. The TriStar Series has grown to 28 races in these 14 destinations in less than three years: Split (Croatia), Nevis (St.Kitts and Nevis), Mallorca y Madrid (Spain), Worms-Germany (Germany), Lyon, Deauville and Cannes (France), Estonia-Otepää (Estonia), Minnesota (USA), Monaco (Monaco), Sardinia (Italy), Milton Keynes (GBR) and Salzkammergut (Austria). TriStar has introduced new distances to the sport of triathlon (A/N: 111km and 222km), officially recognized by ITU, as well as a new Team Racing Concept T5.
