We came across many things this year while reporting the triathlon news here at TRIJUICE. Here is a look at some of the highlights from the 2011 Triathlon season here in the U.S. and around the World.
Towards the end we saw Crowie and Chrissie reclaim the Ironman World Champ Titles in Hawaii, Alexander winning his 3rd Title and Wellington winning her 4th Title. We can't forget about Marino Vanhoenacker's perfect day lowering the Ironman World Record time to 7:45:58 or Andreas Raelert's new Iron Distance record time of 7:41:33. Wellington even showed off her speed, lowering her own world best time to 8:18:13. Ronnie Schildknecht 7:59:42 becomes the first person to go Sub 8 in North America, at Ironman Florida. Eneko Llanos two weeks later goes 7:59:38 at Ironman Arizona. In the end 14 athletes broke the Men's 8:00 hour mark or the Women's 9:00 hour mark in Ironman racing, check out our 2011 Ironman Triathlon Results Grid.
We saw a significant number of new triathlon races announced or take place in 2011 for the first time. Notably, the new HITS Triathlon Series, the Life Time Fitness 250km Leadman Triathlon and the Aurlandsfjellet Xtreme Triathlon in Norway The new 5150 Olympic Distance Triathlon Series kicked-off.
We caught wind of Hector Picard, a Double-Arm Amputee doing triathlons, Charles Futrell Becomes Oldest Man to Complete a Triathlon at Age 90, Blind Triathlete Patricia Walsh goes Sub 12 in an Ironman event and Pippa Middleton participates in a Triathlon.
This year was action packed, so it is likely that I missed a few things here. Don't forget to read till the end to see the Best Highlight from 2011 Triathlon Season.

Best Highlight of 2011 Triathlon Season
In closing I would have to say this is the best highlight from 2011. It involves 4 triathlon videos from Virgin Active promoting the London Triathlon. The European humor is hilarious! It's a shame no one in the U.S. does something like this. You gotta see them...
