The Race to the Toyota Cup visited Chicago as part of its fifth event this past weekend, the Life Time Chicago Triathlon. Based on overall results through the Series, professional triathletes Alicia Kaye (USA) and Andy Potts (USA) continue to be the current point leaders in the Race to the Toyota Cup, which concludes in Dallas Oct. 2.
Within the professional female division in Chicago, Sarah Haskins (USA) outlasted Kaye and Jillian Petersen (USA) to get her fourth win of the seven-event Series. Haskins completed the course in 2:02:05, making this her third straight Chicago Triathlon win. She is only woman in the event's history to win three consecutive times.
Matt Chrabot (USA) captured the win in the professional male division at Chicago with a time of 1:50:23, holding off Greg Bennett (USA) and Paul Matthews (USA) who placed second and third respectfully.

New for 2011, the professional division also awards 0.5 points to the fastest swim, cycle and run legs at each event. In the female professional division of the Chicago Triathlon, Sarah Haskins (USA) boasted the fastest swim with a time of 25:59, while Alicia Kaye (USA) turned in the fastest bike with a time of 59:59. D'Ann Arthur (USA) had the fastest run with a time of 36:16.
In the professional male division, Hunter Kemper (USA) secured the fastest swim with a time of 21:57, while Andrew Starykowicz (USA) turned in the fastest bike with a time of 54:15. Filip Ospaly (CZE) had the fastest run with a time of 31:46.
The Series now moves on to the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Triathlon, which is set for Sunday, Sept. 25.
The total 2011 Race to the Toyota Cup professional division cash purse includes $584,000 in individual race awards. In addition, a 2011 Toyota vehicle and coveted Toyota Cup will be awarded to both the top female and male champions at the Toyota U.S. Open Triathlon in Dallas, which serves as the Series championship.
