Ironman Brazil 2012 will take place on Sunday, May 27, 2012, which is Memorial Day weekend in the United States. Registration for the 2012 Ironman Brazil event opens for general registration on Monday, June 6, 2011 just after midnight Brazilian time. In the U.S. that time equals Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 11:01 PM Eastern Standard Time. Go to www.ironmanbrazil.com to register. Organizers expect the race to sell out the day it opens. If you are at all interested in a race entry slot we encourage you to sign up immediately before it is too late.
This will be the 15th Anniversary of Ironman Brazil and the 12th year it has been held in Florianópolis on the beautiful Island of Santa Catarina.
Race day conditions in Florianópolis usually range from 56 to 60 (13 to 16C) for a low and 70 to 78 (20 to 26C) for a high, which are ideal conditions for a fast race.
We had the opportunity to do this race back in 2006. What a great Ironman experience it was, the course, the location, the people were great! If you are looking for something different, we would truly recommend this race. Back then nearly 1,200 of us took part in the Ironman Brazil race, now days it's nearly 2,000. That just goes to show how popular this race has become.
