2011 Best of the U.S. State Qualifier Triathlons

The Best of the U.S. Triathlon Series shines the spotlight on the talent-rich field of amateur men and women from around the country and brings them together to compete against each other and as a team representing their home state at the Best of the U.S. Amateur Triathlete Championship. The fastest male and female resident amateur at each of the state qualifiers earns the right to represent themselves and their state at championship race.

Best of the U.S., now in it's seventh year is delighted to announce that the Alabama Coastal Triathlon, on the pristine beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama will host the 2011 National Championship in September.

Alabama Coastal is a production of the venerated Team Magic race production company. Team Magic produces top-of-the-line multisport and running events, including Powerman Alabama, Music City Triathlon, Chattanooga Waterfront, Buster Britton, and are frequently called on to produce USAT and ITU events.

The move from southern California to Alabama's Gulf Shore also provides a compelling twist to to the Championship. While the inland Orange County Triathlon course (2009 and 2010 Championships) was universally described as "tough", the Alabama Coastal course is flat and fast. Its challenges generally come in the form of warmth and humidity. With the performance-pushing effect of the Best of the U.S. Championship field quality, spectators will be witness to what should be a historically fast and intense competition.
