Dallas Athletes Racing, a triathlon event organizer with various triathlons in Texas has introduced a NEW, FRESH, UNIQUE & ONE-OF-A-KIND distance to the TexasMan Triathlon Series. They have announced the inaugural X-50 distance triathlon. The intention of this race is to let athletes achieve both SPEED and ENDURANCE.
Longer than an Olympic distance and shorter than a Half-Iron, the X-50 distances are as follows: 1-mile swim (right in line with Olympic Distance), 40-mile bike (doable jump from 25-miles in the Olympic); and a 9-mile run (only three-miles further than Olympic). An athlete can work on their speed and endurance and feel like they are racing rather than surviving!
Triathlon: TexasMan X-50 Tri
When: Sunday, May 15th, 2011
Where: Johnson Branch State Park, Valley View, TX
Divisions: Age Group, Relay
Website: www.dallasathletesracing.com
The Speed and Endurance X-50 event will be part of the TexasMan Triathlon Weekend which includes the Amica 19.7 Sprint Triathlon and TexasMan Olympic Distance Triathlon.
The new distance is a great opportunity for veteran triathletes to try something different, for others to test the waters before stepping up to a half iron distance triathlon or a great early tune up race before and actual half iron distance triathlon.
The TexasMan Triathlon Series features a sand beach swim start. A bike course that features some "Texas hills", a Texas hill is just that... a hill... which breaks up the flat terrain of the area. The run course is mostly tree lined through the state park.
This will be the 7th year for the TexasMan Triathlon Series which has developed the reputation of being a "Energy, Fun, and Organized" event. More that 3,000+ athletes from around the country have already experienced the TexasMan Weekend, are you the next one?
Registration is currently open for the new TexasMan X-50 Tri for Individuals and Relay teams. Visit the Dallas Athletes Racing website for details.
