The World Triathlon Corporation which introduced the new 5150 Triathlon Series back in October of 2010 has now announced several new triathlon events on the European schedule. All events of the 5150 Triathlon Series include a 1.5km Swim, 40km Bike and 10km Run, which totals 51,50km, thus the title 5150. All of the 5150 events are non-drafting triathlon races.
The original series announcement included 3 events in Europe on the schedule. Now in 2011 the 5150 Triathlon Series will offers 7 events in Europe, including races iconic cities like Berlin, Munich, Darmstadt, Zurich, Klagenfurt, Liverpool and Tenerife in the Canary Islands.

The season ending 5150 Tenerife event in October will host the European Championship.
Each of the 5150 Triathlon events will have a $25,000 prize purse for professional athletes. Professionals and age group athletes can quality for the European Championship (Tenerife, Spain), US Championship (Des Moines, Iowa) or Asia-Pacific Championship.
Registration for all European events will open in February, 2011.
