The Pacific Northwest is set to host a new triathlon event this upcoming Labor Day Weekend. The inaugural StumpTown Triathlon event will take place just outside of Portland, Oregon at Blue Lake Park. The new triathlon event will have something for everyone on race weekend with various race distance options. The featured even will be the Long Course Half Iron triathlon on Saturday along with a Duathlon. On Sunday they will host a Sprint Triathlon, a Tri-iT Novice Triathlon and an Olympic Distance Triathlon and Duathlon.

The event is situated nicely on the calendar as a late tune-up race for the fall Iron Distance races in Hawaii, Florida and Arizona. The StumpTown Long Course Triathlon will offer a $5,000 dollar prize purse for the overall males and females (5 deep).
Event distances are as follows: Long Course Triathlon: 1.2mi Swim - 56mi Bike - 13.1mi Run. Olympic Triathlon: 1.5km Swim - 40km Bike - 10km Run. Sprint Triathlon: 1/2mi Swim - 12mi Bike - 5km Run. Tri-It Novice Triathlon: 1/4mi Swim - 12mi Bike - 5km Run.
The event will be staged at Blue Lake Park, which is located 15 miles east of downtown Portland, OR.
