The World Triathlon Corporation will formally announce the addition of a new Ironman series race next week. The new Ironman Wales triathlon will be added to its calendar of events and is scheduled for Sunday, September 11, 2011. Ironman Wales will take place in the county of Pembrokeshire in the southwest of Wales and will offer 50 qualifying slots to the Ironman World Championship taking place in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
The event is set to be taking place in the village of Tenby in Pembrokeshire, Wales
The offficial website www.ironmanwales.com will be launched on October 1, the same day as registration opens.
