Epic Camp Heads Back to France in 2011

epiccampfrance2011.jpgEpic Camps have become renowned for not only improving athletic performance through the high volume prescribed but the almost impossible training regime takes athletes mental strength to new levels. Since 2003 the Epic Camp team has held various triathlon training camps around the world. Now in 2011, Epic Camp will be making a return trip to France for its next summer training adventure.

Epic Camp France 2011 is set to commence from Lyon, France on Sunday, August 14, 2011 and runs through Monday, August 22, 2011. A late season, volume/strength - oriented training camp for athletes serious about their commitment to athletic excellence. Ideal preparation for those heading to Kona or wishing to finish their season in style.

From Lyon the camp heads North to the beautiful lakeside town of Annecy. The climbs we will pass will include Col de Grand Colombier, Col de Joux Plane and Col de la Colombière. After two nights in Annecy you then bike South to Le Grave (about 30km from Alpe D'Heuz). There will be no shortage of altitude gains with climbs of Col Du Telgraphe, Col Du Galibier, Col de Croix de Fer and the infamous Alpe D'Huez. The final two nights of the camp will be based in Embrun home of one of the toughest Iron distances races in the world. Aside from checking out the great cols of the area there will be some brilliant open water swimming.
