SAN DIEGO, CA - July 26, 2010 - GOTRIbal®, an international online, and offline, network for women passionate about endurance sports, today announced the San Diego Triathlon sponsorship for its Conference empowering and connecting women triathletes and runners. The San Diego Triathlon will sponsor the luncheon where women will enjoy a healthy spread of treats at the Hyatt Mission Bay Resort and Spa.
The event will be held on Saturday, October 16 from 7:30-4:30 p.m. PST at the Hyatt Bay Resort on Quivera Rd. For those interested in participating, please visit: www.gotribalnow.com/events
"Women represent an important area of growth for the endurance industry," says Lisa Jenkins, Event Director for the San Diego Triathlon. "This conference offers the San Diego Triathlon a unique opportunity to interact directly with active women through a positive open dialogue. We hope to take what we learn during the luncheon and create a better experience for the female athlete."
Delicious breakfast and lunch treats are just part of the full day of clinics, workshops and presentations during the 2010 GOTRIbal Conference. Women participants can expect to meet leaders in the endurance sports and medical fields who specialize in women specific topics:
Lesley Paterson, Xterra Pro Triathlete and Coach: Native Scot, and San Diego resident, Lesley talks about how to make the most of your training program while maintaining a full life outside of triathlon.
Matt Fitzgerald: Nationally renowned author, journalist, coach and athlete, Matt will discuss elements from his new book Racing Weight: How to get lean for peak performance.
Active Release Technique: demonstrations: Expert and San Diego favorite, Gino Cinco, will demonstrate this soft tissue technique to relieve nerve and muscle discomfort and pain so that athletes can continue training for their races.
Amber England: Amber, recently featured in Self Magazine, lost 100 lbs, and completed her first triathlon. She will discuss her personal transformation and its impact on her professional life.
Melanie Benn: Para-Olympic swimmer, multi-medal winner. Will join Amber England in several panels to discuss overcoming personal and physical challenges to reach your athletic goals.
"It's amazing how many women do endurance sports now, yet so few have the forum to safely connect and network, outside of their regions, in a meaningful way," commented GOTRIbal founder and CEO, Tanya Maslach. "This event will bring our online resources to the offline arena where women athletes gather in the spirit of learning, networking and unconditional support - its unprecedented."
Registration Info:
The full program, plus all the scrumptious food, is $135. Your day starts at 7:30 am with a buffet style breakfast and 150 or so of some incredible women from around the country who share your passion for running, swimming and cycling.
You'll be treated to a wide array of professionals, both at the Expo and through your clinics and conference workshops and presentations, who recharge your batteries with knowledge, inspiration and, of course, a little bit of insanity.
Your weekend-long journey will culminate, if you choose, with a sprint race on Sunday morning with over 1500 other women doing the US Women's Triathlon only a few short minutes from the hotel.
