blueseventy has produced a limited edition version of the hugely popular 2010 Hydra-Vision goggle as part of their link with reigning European Ironman Champion, Timo Bracht. The German superstar Commerzbank triathlete will defend his European title this weekend in Frankfurt, wearing exclusive goggles bearing his name and team colours.
Hydra-Vision goggles are favoured by triathletes such as Bracht because of their all round visibility and excellent low profile dynamics in the water. The split yoke strap makes them ideal for rough open water starts, and those bearing Bracht's name will be tough to catch this season.
Bracht, 34, was 6th in Hawaii last October, and could claim his third European title if he wins in Frankfurt this weekend. He's one of just ten athletes to have broken eight hours for the ironman distance, although repeating that in Frankfurt will be tough this year with 5km of extra cycling added to the bike course due.
He said: "Swimming is not usually my biggest strength in a triathlon. I find it tough, but with this new goggle swimming is fun, even for me!"
