Ironman 70.3 has arrived in Taiwan, with the launch of the newest event in the Asia-Pacific region, Ironman 70.3 Taiwan. Taking place on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, the inaugural race will unfold in the city of Kenting, on the southern tip of Taiwan.
The historic region of Kenting on the Taiwanese south coast is a vacation delight for tourists and visitors alike, encompassing a large national park and home to a variety of wildlife and laid back atmosphere under the warm tropical sun.

The two-lap swim course takes place in the small bay of Kenting surrounded by hillock. After the swim, cycling and running courses take competitors along the coastline of Hengchuen Peninsula to visit the beauty of southern Taiwan.
The Ironman 70.3 Taiwan event will have twenty-five qualifying slots to the 2011 Ironman World Championship 70.3 race.
The race is also an official qualifier for the 2010 Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship, held in Phuket, Thailand - the last-chance qualifier for the 2010 event.
Registration opens on Saturday, Jun. 5 (1 p.m. Taiwan Time) at ironmantaiwan.com, with the early bird entry fee (until Jun. 30) at $190 USD for individual entry, and $280 USD for relay entry.
