GOTRIbal Organization Makes a Splash Around the World

San Diego-based sports organization makes a splash around the world with its new resource for women

gotribal logoSAN DIEGO, CA June 6, 2010 - GOTRIbal® (www.gotribalnow.com) is pleased to announce the unveiling of the new resource created exclusively for the 60 million-plus women who play, train, and race in endurance sports - GOTRIbalnow.com.

GOTRIbal connects and empowers women of all abilities, levels and backgrounds who share a desire to stay fit, fast and strong through endurance sports such as swimming, cycling, running, triathlon, rowing and duathlon.

GOTRIbal spokesperson Chrissie Wellington, who burst onto the triathlon scene in 2007 with a definitive win in the prestigious Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, welcomes women as they join the global TRIbe with her personal message on the website. "I'm so proud and excited to be involved in the development of GOTRIbal", says Wellington, now a three-time World Ironman Champion and irondistance world record holder. "Triathlon is not just a sport. It is a means to build bridges, break down barriers and change lives," says Wellington.

Headquartered in San Diego, the company is unique in its focus on becoming the most comprehensive women's resource for interactive media and local event experiences that encourage networking, learning and safely connecting around topics like training, coaching, races, and travel for women who play and race in endurance sports.

Expert coaches in strength conditioning, injury prevention, triathlon, running training and sports psychology consulting will be on hand for members; alongside discussion forums for members to interact with each other, and leaders in the industry, on everything from skincare to how to choose a bicycle saddle.

MICHELLEGUIDROZ150.jpgMichelle Guidroz, a San Diego member of GOTRIbal, couldn't swim before her first sprint tri in 2008. Bolstered by the support of the GOTRIbal women then, she finished her first triathlon strong, and just three weeks ago, completed one of the country's most difficult Ironman distance events in Utah - that's 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles on her bike, and then, a 26.2 mile run.

"I am not athletically gifted. The support & advice from the women in GOTribal helped to get me through my first Sprint Triathlon. It is super cool to find that there are these women...total strangers at first, that would offer to swim with me, ride with me, and actually stay by my side, just because they wanted to help me out. When I signed up for Ironman, another member became the most awesome mentor!. It's so cool finding out what you're capable of when you put your mind to it. Don't ever think for a minute that you are not capable. Believe in yourself, we will believe in you, and the rest is history!"
