The weekend event will feature a triathlon expo complete with participating businesses and a pre-triathlon dinner on Saturday, December 4, 2010 with the triathlon events taking place on Sunday, December 5, 2010.
The Olympic Distance event will cover a 1.5km Swim, 40km Bike and 10km Run competition with a shorter 750me Swim, 20km Bike and 5km Run for the Sprint race. A special Military Triathlon will be offered for Navy personnel, along with a group relay competition for both the Olympic and Sprint Distance events.

The swimmers will then transition to the bike event traveling North on US 1 to the Boca Chica Naval Base and proceed through the base covering two loops and then heading South on US 1. The event will conclude with the third leg - the run - of the triathlon covering S. Roosevelt Blvd and finishing back at The Marriott Beachside Resort.
"The course was specifically designed to take advantage of the sights in Key West along with making this a competitive event." said Amy Speilberg, co-owner of Stay Fit Studio.
The entry fee for the Key West Triathlon is $75 for the Sprint competition and $125 for the Olympic event, which is less than other South Florida Triathlons.
