Our story back in October 2010 Ironman 70.3 Monaco Race in Doubt reported the doubt of the 2010 Ironman 70.3 Monaco race and the possibility of a new race in Monaco. Well, the dust has now settled on the Ironman 70.3 series and now it's time to move on and start a new era with StarEvents.
The good news is, Monaco will still host a triathlon with the announcement of the new TriStar111 Monaco Triathlon event. After five years of Ironman 70.3, his Serene Highness Prince Albert II, the Government and the Monegasque Triathlon Federation have decided to switch to the successful new TriStar label.

A TriStar111 consists of a 1km Swim, 100km Bike and 10km Run, totaling of 111km. The inaugural TriStar event in Monaco will have a maximum of 1000 participants.
The 1km swim takes place in the Larvotto Bay, just off the Larvotto Beach in the Southeast of the Principality. The 100km bike leg will take athletes out of Monaco heading to Roquebrune and up the steep Mountains of the hinterland. Breathtaking views and picturesque villages of the bike ride have always been the centerpiece of the triathlon in Monaco, and TriStar111 Monaco will take athletes to the most stunning places. The 10km run will be accomplished in two and a half loops on the world famous Formula 1 circuit featuring the Tunnel, the Port, the Gardens of the Casino and the hairpin bends.
