Dare to TRI Something New, the Maple Grove Triathlon


Minneapolis, St. Paul and surrounding area triathletes will now have another triathlon event to look forward to in 2010 and the future with the addition of the new Maple Grove Triathlon: Dare to TRI. The event is intended for avid triathletes, but also those who have been waiting for a good reason to "TRI" for the first time. The new late season triathlon event scheduled for August will take place in Maple Grove, a city located on the fringes of the Twin Cities metro area. Maple Grove is widely recognized as one of Minnesota's fastest growing suburbs and has become a popular destination for its many parks, trails, shops and restaurants.

The triathlon event will feature Olympic and Sprint distance races. The event distances will be the standard distances of 1.5km Swim, 40km Bike, 10km Run and 750me Swim, 20km, 5km. No course details area available just yet, but look for them to be posted on the event website in the near future.

The inaugural Maple Grove Triathlon event currently has a race capacity of 500 athletes. Relays will not be part of the new event but could be an option in the future. The provided registration fee at this time has been stated: $75.

Event producer, Dare to Dream Events has just received approval for this new event. Their focus now will be getting their proposed course approved by USAT and their website up-and running before the end of the year. They should have a general splash page up-and-running shortly with event details and a fully functional website sometime in December.

Triathletes should keep the new Maple Grove Triathlon event on their radar when planning out their 2010 triathlon race season. Don't be afraid, "Dare to TRI" something new.
