On August 1, 2010 the city of Omaha, Nebraska will host a new Olympic Distance triathlon event throughout the downtown area. The Olympic Distance event will consist of the standard 1.5km Swim, a 40km Bike and a 10km Run and will be a USAT sanctioned event.
The Omaha Triathlon is expected to be the first major triathlon in Nebraska and could host more than 1,000 athletes of all abilities from around the country. The event will also include relay team and Aquabike competition options. A festival finish for athletes and spectators will feature live music from local artists and bands, and food and refreshments.

The Omaha Triathlon course will feature a 1.5km point-to-point swim in Carter Lake along the shore of downtown Omaha. Athletes will then embark on a single loop 40km bike course in and around downtown Omaha and will complete the event with and out-and-back 10km run along the riverfront trail along Carter Lake.
Awards for the top 3 finishers in each age group division, the relays, and the aquabike division will be given. Also, the top 3 elite Males & Females will receive awards.

NOTE: Non-USAT members will be charged a $10 one-day license fee
