Just the other day we posted the preliminary 2010 Ironman 70.3 Series Race Calendar and now comes word that we have another new Ironman 70.3 series race on the horizon in 2010. We should see the announcement of the new Ironman 70.3 Miami triathlon race in Miami, Florida announced shortly, set to take place in late October, 2010. This would bring the number of Ironman 70.3 series races in North America to 23 if you include this race and the expected new race in Colorado.

The late season Ironman 70.3 Miami event will consist of a 1.2mi Swim, a 56mi Bike and a 13.1mi Run.
The event will be staged at BayFront Park, where the swimming portion of the event will take place. From there athletes will head out on to the bike course which will take them through Watson Island, where riders will the take a loop back south toward Homestead riding through Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and Pinecrest until returning back to downtown Miami. After arriving at BayFront Park participants will then head out for the run portion of the event which will loop around McArthur Causeway before getting to the finish line at BayFront Park.
