Just the other day Germany landed it's 2nd Ironman race and now comes word that Worms, Germany will host the inaugural TriStar111 Germany triathlon race in June 2010. The city of Worms is no stranger to the sport of triathlon since back in 1983 Worms hosted one the first triathlon races in Germany.
“Worms with it’s central location within Germany, it’s history and culture as well as the beautiful region provide excellent conditions for the successful launch of the TriStar series in Germany”, says Georg Hochegger, President of Star Productions.
The new race is the first TriStar111 triathlon event from Star Productions / StarEvents, the new company behind the TriStar series. A TriStar111 triathlon event is a triathlon race covering a total distance of 111km, with 1km Swim, a 100km Bike and 10km Run.

The 1km swim split in the calm waters of the raft harbour of Worms concludes with a smooth downstream swim in the Rhine River is followed by a 1 loop 100km bike ride through the beautiful Rheinhessen wine country. A 10km run with two times crossing the Nibelungen-bridge, a part through the history-charged Old Town of Worms and the finish at the Rhine river embankment completes this extraordinary race day.
“It gives us a great pleasure to announce that Worms will become the home of the new international triathlon event series TriStar in Germany”, says Lothar Leder, managing director of 3vento, the organizer of the TrisStar111 Germany. 3vento has partnered with Star Events, in order to bring the new event series to Germany.
TriStar111 Germany with its main focus on the bike split and and the perfect date at the beginning of June is the ideal choice for beginners and experienced athletes who want to get ready for other big European triathlon races in summer 2010.
TriStar111 Germany will be the third TriStar event. The inaugural TriStar event, TriStar200 Andalucía set to take place on September 12, 2009. The other event is the new TriStar111 Lisboa triathlon on April 24, 2010 which re-branded the Lisboa Long Distance International Triathlon in Portugal.
