Tom Evans Wins Ironman Florida, Shatters Course Record at Age 40



Today in Panama City Beach, Florida at Ironman Florida Tom Evans was on the verge of breaking 8 hours. He fell short of this accomplishment half way into the marathon race but that doesn't matter because he still managed to win his third Ironman title and in the process shatters the Ironman Florida course record with a time of 8:07:59. He shatters the record time of 8:21:29 set last year by Stephan Vuckovic by thirteen and half minutes.

The 40 year old dentist from Penticton, B.C., Canada had an awesome day today, his splits were Swim: 48:15 - Bike: 4:18:59 - Run: 2:57:19

Back in 2004 Evans won Ironman Florida in a time of 8:31:07. His other victories include Ironman Canada also in 2004 and Ironman Coeurd'Alene in 2008. His fastest Ironman time recorded seems to be 8:28:06 in 2004 at Ironman Canada.
