Danskin gears up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Danskin Women's Triathlon Series, the largest and longest running multi-sport series in the world. Female triathletes of all ages (14 & up) from first timers to advanced competitors are encouraged to participate in the races that will take place in and around 8 major US cities. The 2009 series schedule will be announced shortly.
New York, NY (November 19, 2008) -- Danskin invites women of all ages and ability levels to celebrate the 20th year anniversary of the Danskin Women's Triathlon Series - the largest and longest running sprint distance multi-sport series in the world. Women can participate in races in 8 cities across the US that will be scheduled from May through September 2009.

Since establishing the Series in 1990 as part of the brand's longstanding commitment to women's health and fitness, Danskin remains dedicated to this premier women-only sporting event. Each race is comprised of three sprint-distance events: a .75K swim, a 20K bike ride and a 5K run. With more than 118 races to date, the series has become a fixture in women's competitive and multi-sport events. Over 212,000 women across the country -- including first timers, intrepid cancer survivors, and seasoned athletes -- have had the opportunity to know first-hand the empowering and life-changing experience that embodies "the Danskin."
Upon completing a race, which places emphasis on achieving what is her own personal best, each participant receives a medal bearing the phrase, "The woman who starts the race is not the same woman who finishes the race." This reflects the Danskin difference, resolute in encouraging women of all ages and physical abilities to experience the challenge of becoming first-time triathletes in this enduring and ever-growing series.
