2008 Triathlon Training Camps

Whether you are a beginner or seasoned veteran, valuable insight and training can be gained by attending a triathlon camp or clinic. Attending a training camp gets you hands-on coaching, feedback, technique tips and the ability to ask questions on the spot. Triathlon camps vary, some camps are catered toward specific triathlon events, some have special guest coaches while others are offered in exotic locations. Experienced professionals Peter Reid and Chuckie V have teamed up to offer this Advanced Base Camp in and around Solvang. This camp is open to intermediate Half Ironman/Ironman athletes and pure cyclists who are looking for a challenging week of training in a beautiful part of the world.

Triathlon Boot Camp (Cost: $475)

The camp is designed for age-group athletes with some experience who want to improve their performance and enjoyment of the sport by learning how to make the most of their limited training time. The staff includes Mid-Atlantic Multisport Head Coach Bill Hauser and six-time Ironman champion Ken Glah.

Iron Distance Wisconsin Camp (Cost: $450 before July 4th, $500 after July 4th)

Comprehensive iron distance training with supported group rides and runs on the Ironman Wisconsin race course. Talks include nutrition strategies before, during, and after racing and mental aspects of iron distance racing. Review race day preparation and procedures, know what to expect.

The Triathlon camps are led by EuroCycler's tri-head-coach and professional triathlete Olaf Sabatschus of Germany along with others while the camp language is English. A triathlete’s paradise it is: an indoor 25me lap pool an outdoor heated 25me lap pool, open water swimming in the ocean, hundreds of miles of road cycling with flats, hills and mountains and running trails along the coast. May 9 - May 11, 2008 - Boulder, CO, USA

The camp will be geared towards athletes who want to learn how to train properly in addition to improving their swim and run technique as well as their bike positioning. Talks will have an informal feel as they will be done during meals as well as on the field.

The training camps are designed as all inclusive packages throughout the year, which includes accommodation, breakfast and guided or self guided rides, runs and swims. Evening meals are also provided to allow the guests half board accommodation if they choose or they always have the use of the guest kitchen and Lounge if self catering is required.
