2008 Port of Tauranga Half Ironman Results

The 19th annual Port of Tauranga Half Ironman took place on Sunday in Tauranga, New Zealand. The favorite on the men's side would probably have been last year’s champion and overall 8 time champion Cameron Brown and on the women's side probably Joanna Lawn the defending champion for the last two years. But today wasn't their day for a repeat as both defending champions finished in 2nd place today.

Kieran Doe, the 26 year old from Auckland held off Cameron Brown, the eight time champion, to win the race by less than two minutes and claim the title for the first time. It was a grueling battle on the women's side as well as Kate Bevilaqua from Australia defeated defending champion Joanna Lawn by only 10 seconds for the women’s title.
