This Saturday NBC Sports will broadcast the 2007 Ford Ironman World Championship race. This is our one chance a year to see how the professional race truly unfolded along the way. As usual it's bound to show us the excitement and the heartache of the race in Kona. Previous broadcasts of the race in Kona have earned the 90-minute broadcast 14 Emmy awards.
We'll get to see the rivalry that never panned out on both the men's and women's side. Chris McCormack finally winning an Ironman title after many attempts. Rookie sensation Chrissie Wellington winning an Ironman title on her second attempt at racing the iron distance triathlon. The debut and awesome races put forth by Craig Alexander and Samantha McGlone at their first Ironman World Championship race.
In addition, the broadcast will inspire us with coverage of Scott Rigsby, the first above the knee double-amputee to finish the Ironman World Championship, and blind athlete Charlie Plaskon.
Don't miss Saturday’s coverage of the Ford Ironman World Championship on NBC at 4:30 PM EST (Check local listings for the time in your area.)
