If you missed your chance to register for the now sold-out inaugural 2007 Ironman Louisville triathlon you'll get a second chance starting on February 1, 2007. Ironman will be offering a limited number of Ironman Community Foundation Slots starting Thursday, February 1 at 9AM PST on it's website www.ironman.com.
The slots will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and will each cost $1,000 USD, which includes athlete registration and a $550 tax-deductible donation to The Ironman Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization. One hundred percent of all donations made to The Ironman Foundation, Inc. will be distributed to support various local organizations and charities based in Louisville.
The event is scheduled for August 26, 2007 and will serve as a qualifier for the 2007 Ford Ironman World Championship taking place on October 13, in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. The 2.4 Mile swim for Ford Ironman Louisville will take place in the Ohio River and the bike and run course will take athletes throughout Louisville and surrounding areas.
