Registration is now open for inaugural Aviva Ironman 70.3 Singapore triathlon scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 2nd, 2007. This is one of the new races from the World Triathlon Corporation scheduled to take place in 2007 in the 70.3 series which now has 20 races scheduled around the world. This will be the first Ironman 70.3 event to ever take place in Asia and will have 75 slots for the 2007 Ford Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Clearwater, Florida. Event organizers are expecting some 600 - 800 participants for the inaugural race. The climate for the island nation of Singapore is relatively similar to that of Hawaii and Florida, so expect average highs of 88º F and lows of 75º F with humidity in the 70% - 80% range.
