Registration to most of the Ironman races in North America tends to sell out in a matter of hours while other races seem to take days, weeks or even months to reach their maximum capacity. Currently in Europe both Ironman Austria and Ironman Germany are Sold Out. Ironman Switzerland, which is set to take place on Sunday, June 24th, 2007 in the beautiful city of Zürich is about to reach its maximum capacity of 1,850 athletes. At the time of this entry on December 20th, only 110 entries remained. If you were pondering the idea of registering for this wonderful race, the time is now, you must take action be for the opportunity disappears. The registration fee for Ironman Switzerland is CHF 550 or roughly $453 US Dollars.

On the other hand, if Switzerland is not the race for you then there are a few other Ironman race in Europe that still have starting slots available. • For instance Ironman Lanzarote which takes place on Saturday, May 19th, 2007 in Lanzarote on the Canary Islands of the off the north western coast of Africa still has openings available. The limit for this race is 1,200 athletes and currently only 438 triathletes are registered. The registration fee for this race is EUR 350 or roughly $463 US Dollars.
• Another race in Europe which still has starting slots available is Ironman France which takes place in Nice, France on Sunday, June 24th, 2007. The registration fee for this race is EUR 330 or roughly $436 US Dollars. This race currently has 1,176 entries remaining. • The last Ironman triathlon with openings is Ironman UK which it set to take place on Sunday, August 19th, 2007 in Sherborne, Dorset in the United Kingdom. This race has a maximum capacity of 1,500 athletes and a registration fee of GBP 240 or roughly $473 US Dollars.
